Fat Rats?

Mike Weitzman
Hello,
I currently reside in Southern California in the High Desert. I have been keeping snakes for about 21 years now and have been breeding snakes for 17 years. I originally started like all other youngsters with Garter snakes, this is the only snake my mother would let me have because it did not feed on rodents. She soon made a deal that if I caught a snake that ate rodents I could keep it,  because she was not going to buy me one. Roughly 2 weeks later I cought a Gopher snake on our drive-way, I kept him and named him 'Edgar'.  Edgar would be the start of my "rodent eating" snake collection.

I met my mentor and now partner Randy Wright at the local monthly Reptile Meeting roughly 16 years ago. That is when my collection soon started to grow! He has been and still is a great support in all my reptile ventures.

I have kept and bred Kingsnakes, Milksnakes, Pythons and Boas. I finally figured out that Boas were and are my passion!! I now have a great significant other who shares and enjoys the hobby of keeping and breeding Boa Constrictors. Over the past 7 years our collection has expanded tremendously and become a business that helps pay the bills!!!

Stephanie
With out Stephanie I do not think........or I should say,  I know we could not keep such a large collection. When I met Stephanie in 1998 she was TERRIFIED of snakes. Soon after with a little prodding and trust she began to hold and enjoy snakes.  When it comes to selling of the Boas, she is the one who you will meet and see behind the booth and the Reptiles Shows!

The best thing of all is having your significant other enjoy, share and work by your side with what you love most....O.K, second most....

*Special Thanks*
This spot right here is to thank my parents. They have been the most supportive parents a reptile kid could have growing up! All the trips back and forth to the petshop for rats and mice. Then all the space above our frozen dinners for the frozen rats and mice! LOL The seemingly endless nights they took me night driving. Then the endless nights looking for the loose snakes in the house!!

THANK YOU,
